The G60 tower, at least in my case, uses a different diameter shaft than the VR6 tower (02A). To my understanding VR and G60 are the same when it comes to the shifter tower and shifter box? right? could someone verify this please. feels short with the stock shifter but i had them off my mk4. im sure there is a fix but ive got a semi race car, i could care less.Īll i know is its alot smoother shifting and no play.Īdding the short shift on the tranny and a B&M short throw shifter make it kinda short and almost notchy. Only issue ive run into was it doesnt seal up to the floor and some airflow still runs into the car. Put the shifter up in after drilling the holes and youll have to notch the floor a little for clearence of the pivot arm.

To drill the holes for the front pieces, clean the tunnel, use a paint marker and mark the tips of the allen head bolts and attach the rear and just hit the front of the box against the top of the tunnel and it leaves 2 marks where you need to drill. IF NOT, YOUR PUTTING STRESS ON THE BOX AND THEN THE CABLES RUB INSIDE THIER HOUSINGS. The front of the box, i replaced the empty holes with allen head bolts from a 2.0 8v crank pulley (i believe) and used about 4-5 washer between the box and the tunnel. Then i removed the TORX gold screws out of the front of the box that go through the floor and used them to hold the rear in case they have the huge built on washer. The rear of the shift box needs the 2 holes oblonged pretty far til they bolt up to the factory points. The shift tower piece and cables bolt right up to the O2A VR tranny no issues. VR6 shift linkage in all mk3's have play and it feels sloppy and no matter what you try or do, you cant fix it. I had a post going inside my other post but im sure this will get some better attention.
